Gary Greene

Gary Lennox Greene, 75, of Cushing, passed away at Lakewood Health System Hospital in Staples  October 19.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m., Sat., Oct. 27 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Interment will take place at the Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery, Little Falls on Mon., Oct. 29,  at 11 a.m.

 Arrangements were by  Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.   

Gary was born on September 28, 1943 in Minneapolis to Morris and Irene (Hansen) Greene. At age five, his family moved to Dalton where he graduated from Underwood High School in 1961. Gary enlisted in the US Air Force in 1964, proudly serving his country until 1968. After discharge from the Air Force, Gary returned to Minneapolis. On Nov. 28, 1968, Gary married Cathie Lawless in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan.  They made their home in the Twin Cities and Gary worked in many financial positions including as an owner and CFO. After retirement, they moved to their lake home on Fish Trap Lake.  Gary enjoyed spending time with family, boating, taking walks, reading/discussing books, playing games and wintering in Arizona. His hobby was golf. 

Gary is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years; two sons, Jason of Wayzata and Trevor (Sarah) of Woodbury; four grandchildren, Noah, Ellen, Anton and Calvin; two brothers, Kirby (Alice) of Dalton and Barclay of Yorba Linda, CA; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.  

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Morrison County Food Shelf.
