George Call
George William Call, 84, of Staples, passed away November 6, 2021.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 19 at 11 a.m. at the Thomastown Covenant Church, rural Staples. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.
Interment will be at the church cemetery.
George was born September 3, 1937 to George and Pearle Call in Escanaba, Michigan. He served his country in the U.S. Airforce. George worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company in Jupiter, Florida for 30 years.
George loved his Lord Jesus, serving many years at church in various positions. He was a family man and loved spending time with his wife, Dorothy, his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his sense of humor; he was always cracking a joke.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 62 years, Dorothy; three sons, George O. Call, Gregory (Eva) Call and Gary (Kim) Call; one daughter, Donna (George) Buranosky; six grandchildren, George J. Buranosky II, Sarah Buranosky, Brittany (Luke) Ireland, Elissa Call, Daniel (Mercy) Call and Kristina (Jordan) Benge and two great-grandchildren, Atticus and Florence.
George is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Maxine Kuehne and one brother, Doug Murray.
