Gloria Lund
Gloria F. Lund, 91, of East Gull Lake, passed away August 30, 2016.
Services were held September 7, 2016 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
Arrangements were with the Brenny Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
Gloria was born August 2, 1925 in Brainerd to Dr. Werner J. and Myrtle (Shaw) Lund. She graduated from Staples High School in 1942. She attended Vasser College in Poughkeepsie, NY and the University of Minnesota, where she completed her degree. She returned to Minnesota to manage her father’s medical office in Staples.
Gloria was a long time member of the Order of Eastern Star Lodge and Grand Ruth in 1959. She was active in the Republican Party and served as MN State Chairwomen in 1961. Gloria moved to East Gull Lake in 1976 and continued working in the health office at Staples Public School until retirement.
She is survived by two nieces, Sharon Ruttger, Lakeshore and Barb Bjorkland, Brainerd; one nephew, Steve Clabots, Chaska; five great-nephews, Eric Peterson, Adam Clabots (who was also her special caretaker), John Clabots, Bruce Lund and Jeff Lund; two great nieces, Erin Hlavac and Kathy Lund and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Phyllis Clabots and one brother, Jack Lund and one great nephew.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
