Eva “Jeanette” Etzler, 85, of Staples, died June 3, 2018, at Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 8 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples, with Fr. Lauren Germann officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.
Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples.
Jeanette was born December 24, 1932 in Staples, to Frank and Lila (Marsh) Kowalski. She was raised in Staples and attended country school in Fawn Lake Towhnship. On April 27, 1948 she married Martin Etzler at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Motley. They lived in Villard Township in Staples. Jeanette worked at Morey’s in Motley and at the Mary Rondorf Home in Staples for 25 years. She enjoyed baking pies, making homemade bread, cooking and gardening.
Jeanette is survived by three sons, Martin (Margie) Etzler of Staples, Ken Etzler of Corcoran and Melvin (Cathie) Etzler of Hazen, ND; two daughters, Sherry (Timothy) Godby of Pfafftown, NC and Doreen (Devon) Shafer of Hackensack; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; seven great great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lucille Etzler of Lake City, Agnes (Ron) Carry of Cushing and Joan (Rudy) Bjerga of Motley; one brother, Frank (Shirley) Kowalski of Staples.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and daughter-in-law, Cathy Etzler.
