Joann Drajna, 76, Staples/Browerville area, passed away January 25, 2026 St. Williams Living Center in Parkers Prairie
Mass of Christian Burial was held January 29 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples.
Joann Mary Jambor was born March 30, 1949, to Albert and Mary Anne Jambor in Algona, Iowa. They moved to the family farm in Moran Township in 1951, where they welcomed her brother Leo and sisters Roseanne and Carol.
Joann attended elementary and high school in Staples graduating in 1967. She married Allan Drajna on October 20, 1967. Together they welcomed two sets of twins: Jim and Janet and Dean and Darin. They later divorced.
Joann worked as a food service aid for Staples Public School for several years, retiring to care for her aging parents and her blind sister, Roseanne.
She enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing, embroidering, traveling, writing letters, playing bingo and especially visiting with family and friends.
In 2014 she moved to St. Williams Living Center in Parkers Prairie where she remained until she died.
Joann is survived by one daughter, Janet (Jim) Becker; two sons, Jim Drajna, and Darin (Special Friend, Jenny) Drajna; two granddaughters, Samantha (Lewis) Becker and Kimberly (Fiancé Kyle) Becker; four great-grandchildren, Roxy, William, Arthur and Theodore Becker; one brother, Leo Jambor; two sisters, Roseanne Jambor and Carol (Bruce) John and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joann was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; one infant son, Dean Drajna; one great- grandson, Raymond Becker and one nephew, Jason Jambor.
Arrangements were by Iten Funeral Home of Browerville.
