Judy Stevenson

Judith “Judy” Anne (Bremer) Stevenson 74-year-old resident of Motley went home on September 26, 2019 with her family by her side.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 1 at Motley Free Methodist Church with Chaplain Gregg Valentine officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Judy was born on December 4th,1944 in Wilmont, Minnesota to Joseph and Alvera (Hurlbut) Bremer. Judy attended school in Motley, graduating in 1962. She married Gary David Stevenson on November 30,1963 in Motley, Minnesota. Together they had four children. They lived in several different states for Gary’s boiler maker career before settling in Motley, Minnesota. There she raised her family and drove school bus for many, many years before retiring in 2001. She was everyone’s favorite school bus driver and always had oldies music blasting on the bus stereo for the kids. Judy could be found in a corn field or gravel pit picking agates with her “Butt” sisters Sylvia, Putzie and Mary. She spent many summers with her grandchildren in her home; sorting leaches, going to garage sales, four wheeling, camping and picking agates. Back in her day, she and Gary loved swing dancing and they were good at it, everyone stopped dancing to watch them. She loved Elvis Presley, and everyone knew it by looking around her home. She instilled an important work ethic in both her children and grandchildren. She was very handy and took pride over doing most of the maintenance and upkeep of her home.

Judy will be missed by her husband, Gary; children, Theresa Stevenson, Annie Stevenson, David (Tabitha) Stevenson, and Toni Stevenson; grandchildren, Melaine (Craig) McNeil, Kane Thurlby, Logan Landrus, Zachary (Ashley) Thurlby, Maisie (Neal) Mainville, Danielle Chandler, Tristan Peterson, Sam Chandler, Gracie Stevenson, Maggie Stevenson, and Brennan Stevens; great-grandchildren, Caleb McNeil, Braydon Mainville, Clara Hill, Cameron McNeil, and Ellie Mainville. Brother, Roger Bremer; sisters, Ramona (Punk) Blahosky, Mary (Mike) Kampa, and Paula (Ken) Swecker; sister in-law, Joy Stevenson.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Bremer; mother, Alvera (Hurlbut) Bremer; brother, Joe Bremer; sister, Sylvia Erbe; brothers in-law, Bob Erbe, Doug Stevenson; sister in-law, Virginia Kay; great-grandchild, William Mainville.
