Larry Pankratz

Larry Pankratz, 87, of Browerville died October 18, 2016 at St. Williams Care Center in Parkers Prairie.  

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Oct. 22,  at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville with Fr. Matthew Crane officiating. 

Interment was at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery, Browerville.

Arrangements were with the Iten Funeral Home, Browerville.

Larry was born July 13, 1929, in Brainerd, to Frederick and Mabel (Crocker) Pankratz. He attended country school through the eighth grade. Larry worked in the Dakotas farming and then went to work at the Ford Plant, in St. Paul. He joined the U.S. Army in 1951, and was honorably discharged in 1953. On October 17, 1953, he married Patricia Taylor in Browerville. He continued working at the Ford Plant until 1955, until they moved back to Browerville where they farmed. In 1959 he began driving milk truck for North Star Dairy (Land O Lakes) for 32 years until his retirement in 1991. He was co-owner of Zigan-Pankratz Bus Company for the Browerville Public School for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling. His hobby was working on 8N Ford tractors. Larry was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Dolly (Bob) Sadlo, Deb (Steve) Olson both of Browerville and Julie (Dale) Massman of Osakis; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one  granddaughter and one  grandson.              w43c    A00006B2016OT27
