Lavonne Seipkes, 87, of Staples, passed away July 16, 2018 at the Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples.
Services were held July 20, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, with Pastor Daryl Jacobson officiating.
Interment was at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.
Arrangements were with the Brenny Funeral Chapel, Staples.
Lavonne was born August 13, 1930 on the family farm near Ellsworth to Fred and Catherine (Heikes) Klooster. She married Donald Dirks, they had two children together, Donnell and Lavina, before his passing in 1953. Lavonne married Vern Seipkes, December 28, 1955. They moved to Staples in 1957, where their daughter Pam was born.
Lavonne was a member of the Staples Congregational Church, a Charter member of the Staples ‘93 Lions Club, she received the 35 Year Charter Monarch Chevron and Contributing Membership awards. She was a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, and supported the Staples ‘93 Lions projects for 40 years.
She enjoyed fishing, knitting, crossword puzzles, playing games and cards with her children and grandchildren.
Lavonne is survived by one son, Don (Mary) Seipkes of Henning; two daughters, Lavina Seipkes and Pam Seipkes both of Staples; seven grandchildren, Chad, Josh (Molly), Grant, Abby (Ryan), Chris (Rachael), Ben (Joanna), Kathy; nine great-grandchildren, Isaac, Tyler, Ella, Alivia, Reggie, Alaina, Andrew, Alexis and Cy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; two sisters, Catherine and Valoris.
