Lawrence Shake

Lawrence (Larry) Shake, 61, passed away peacefully January 12, 2026, at A Daughter’s Love Care Center in Staples. 

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, January 24, at 11:00 a.m. at the Swan Valley Lutheran Church, Leader, Mn. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Lunch will be served following the service.

Larry was born March 20, 1964, to Woodrow and Margie Shake. He grew up in the area, graduating from Staples High School. He worked at the Staples Golf Course for a number of years before being diagnosed with paralysis. Larry married Barbara Madson, they had two children, Sean and Naomi Shake. 

Larry enjoyed the outdoors, being on his four-wheeler touring and visiting all the neighbors. 

Larry is survived by his children, Sean Shake and Naomi Shake; two sisters, Betty (Steve) Lorber and Denise (Steve) Bickford; grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gary and Steve and three sisters, Emily, Jo and Sherry. 

Larry was loved by his family and will be greatly missed.

Arrangements are by Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Staples.
