Loretta A. Windschitl, 89, of Pillager, passed away December 4, 2017 at Riverside Assisted Living in Pillager.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Dec. 11, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Motley with Father Joe Korf officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, Dec. 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 6 p.m. at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples and one hour prior to Mass on Monday at the church.
Interment will be at the Motley Public Cemetery.
Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples.
Loretta was born January 24, 1928, in New Ulm, to Isidore and Mary (Preisinger) Faerber. Following her high school graduation, she married Arnold Windschitl on April 27, 1948 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm, where Loretta also taught Sunday school. After moving from Stewart to Motley in 1975, she began sharing her cooking skills working at a number of local restaurants. Loretta liked gardening, canning, baking, sewing, playing bingo (she was Queen) and cards. She enjoyed watching soaps, game shows, the birds and Christmas movies.
She is survived by eight sons, Gary Windschitl, of Motley, Ralph Windschitl, of Motley, Tony Windschitl, of Menahga, Bob Windschitl, of Marble, Leo (Cyndi) Windschitl, of Motley, Paul (Beth) Windschitl, of Sioux Falls, SD, Tom Windschitl, of Fridley and Roger (Rebecca) Windschitl, of Columbia, MD; two daughters, Joan (Tim) Arango, of TN, Rita Miller, of Baxter; three brothers, Isidore Faerber, George Faerber, Marcus Faerber; three sisters, Gretchen Faerber, Pauline “Polly” Hoeffner, and Florence Apple; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one daughter, Carol; two sons, Jim and Joseph; two brothers, Joseph and Stanley and one sister, Marie.
