Lorraine Trout
Lorraine Trout, 87, of Browerville passed away February 26, 2017 at her home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 3 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Motley with Father Joe Korf officiating. Visitation will be, Thursday, Mar. 2, from 5-8 p.m. at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples and one hour prior to services at the church.

Lorraine was born November 30, 1929 in Ward Township, Todd County to Henry and Dorothy (Pankratz) Smith. She attended a one room country school and graduated from Browerville High School. Lorraine received her Bachelor’s Degree in teaching from Bemidji State. She started teaching school at a one room country school and later taught at Sacred Heart Catholic School, in Staples. Lorraine married Athur Trout on June 21, 1949, in Staples. Lorraine helped on the farm and was a fire warden for 40 years. She enjoyed reading, gardening, growing flowers, crossword puzzles, cards, shopping and going to the casino. Lorraine was active in Missions Circle, Homemakers Club, her card club for 67 years, being a homemaker and decorating for the holidays. She most loved spending time with her family.
Lorraine is survived by two daughters, Kathryn Pitcher of St. Louis Park and Joyce (Jerry) Brever of Staples and one son, Alan (RoAnn) Trout of Browerville; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Raymond Smith and Leo Smith; one sister, Betty Martinek; sister-in-law, Margie Smith; brother-in-law, Lavern Martinek and son-in-law, Marvin Pitcher.
