Louise Drajna
Louise Drajna, 79, of Clarissa, passed away on September 13, 2020.
Funeral services were held Sept. 18 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Clarissa with Fr. Mitchell Bechtold officiating.
Interment was held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Clarissa.
Louise Marie Drajna was born June 14, 1941, to Roy and Agnes Hill in a small log cabin in Staples. She grew up in Staples and was a 1960 graduate of Staples High School. Louise married her love, Allan Drajna on June 23, 1981, in Long Prairie. Louise brought her four children from a previous marriage to the union and was also blessed with three stepchildren from Allan’s previous marriage. Together they raised their children on a small family farm near Clarissa. Louise worked as a cook at Lakewood Health System, Staples and later at Long Prairie Hospital until her retirement.
Louise enjoyed attending threshing shows and collecting trinkets from flea markets with her husband, Allan. Her hobbies included traveling, poetry, gardening, Tae kwon do, singing in the Staples Area Women’s Choir, collecting blown glass figurines, porcelain dolls and frogs. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Louise is survived by seven children, Darlys (Jon) Hamberg, DeAnna Hosner-Genz, Darlene Walstorm, Mike (Jerry) Hosner, Jim Drajna, Janet (Jim) Becker and Darin Drajna; eight grandchildren, Amanda (Greg) Geray, Katie (Shaun) Dickman, Kyle (Amy) Ellingsworth, Sara Ellingsworth, Sammi (Louis) Becker, Kimmi Becker, Jennifer (Nick) Busma, and Elizabeth Genz; two great -grandchildren, Grace Geray and Roxy Becker and one sister, Betty Hill.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother Baby Hill; one sister, Carol Hall; husband, Allan Drajna; four nephews, Dean Hall, Troy Mark, Jamie Mark, Nathan Mark and one great-grandchild, Raymond Becker.
