Margery Haidle

 Margery “Margie” Haidle of East Bethel, formerly of Staples, eased from her husband’s devoted arms into joyful eternity to be with Jesus, her Salvation on March 25, 2022 at her home.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date following cremation with an inurnment at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.

Margery Marie was born June 21, 1952 to Joseph and Julia Mertens in Bertha, arriving 10 minutes ahead of her sister.

Margie married Kenneth Haidle on June 5, 1971 and they were blessed with a daughter one year later. They made their home in Oregon and Arizona, while Ken worked at Benson Optical in Utah and Minnesota. After returning to Minnesota, Margie also worked for Benson Optical in Minnetonka for 10 years. She worked 15 years at Riverway Records as a receptionist, in registration and medical records. She enjoyed crocheting, thrift shopping, reading and decorating. Her understnading of caring for varieties of flowers and the benefits of herbs was always welcomed. In 2000 the couple built a home in East Bethel allowing for many years to enjoy the nearness of grandchildren and their parents which brought many blessings to her.

To the amazement of family, friends and Hospice staff, after being diagnosed with cancer Margie endured four months beyond her prognosis without pain medication. He constant faith and trust in her Lord, Jesus Christ sustained her peace, joy, eternal hope and was an inspiration to everyone she had contact with, always giving Him glory.

She will be greatly missed while her love to all remains. She is survived by her husband, “Ken”; one daughter, Katharine (Craig) Uhl; four granddaughters, Chrystle (Donny) Windish, Kayla Uhl, Kaitlyn (Michael) Metheny and Christen Uhl; seven great-grandchildren, Donny Windish, IV, Cassidy Windish, Axel Windish, Talia Jolson, Myles Jolson, Liam Metheny, Nova Metheny; two sisters, Carol Ford and twin sister, Margaret (Kerry) West; many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one great-grandson, Bentley “Bo” Windish; two brothers, Robert “Bob” Mertens and Charles “Charlie” Mertens; one sister-in-law, LuAnn (Erbe) Mertens and one brother-in-law, Keith Ford.

Arrangements were by Mattson Funeral and Cremation Service, Forest Lake.
