Marie Adamietz, 84, of Staples, passed away October 2, 2017, at Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m, Thursday, October 5 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples with Father Joe Korf officiating.
Interment will be at St. Isidore’s Cemetery in Moran Township.
Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples.
Marie was born June 23, 1933 to Leo and Emma (Hooker) Vogel in Moose Lake Township, Poplar. She lived and went to school in the Leader area until moving to Staples. Marie was united in marriage to Frank Adamietz on May 9, 1952 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Motley. Marie and Frank raised their children on a farm near Staples, during which time Marie worked on the family farm along with working at Mid-Western Gas Station for 29-1/2 years; teaching cake decorating classes at West Acres in Fargo, Staples, Motley, Long Prairie, Wadena Home Economics and Central Lakes College in Brainerd and Staples. Marie also operated green- houses for 18 years. She enjoyed plants, flowers, cake decorating, quilting, canning, ceramics and spending time with family and friends.
Marie is survived by three sons, Mark Adamietz, Albert Adamietz, Francis (Annette) Adamietz and four daughters, Marsha (Kim) Pexsa, Kathleen (Brian) Dobson, Marie (Jan) Pexsa and Monica Adamietz; one sister, Margaret Farber; 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; son, John; two infant babies; four sisters and six brothers.
