Marjorie Thrasher

Marjorie Darlene (Homan) Thrasher, 86, of Staples, formerly of Park Rapids, passed away at Lakewood Pines Assisted Living on March 5, 2020.

Graveside services will be held in the spring at Garden of Memories in Iowa.

Marjorie was born July 6, 1933 to David and Jesse (Benesmiller) Homan in Keswick County, IO. She attended country schools and worked on the family farm. She married and had two children. The family lived in Waterloo, Denver, CO and Park Rapids. She was  a stay at home mother until her children were school age. She worked as a seamstress at a garment factory for 18 years. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning, crafts and was referred to as “pioneer mom” by her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Vicki (John) Lyons of Backus and Noreen (Bill) Bradfield of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Maxine (Homan) Lemley and three brothers, Edward, Dale and Richard.
