Merle Killian

Merle Norman Killian, 85, of Staples, passed away December 5, 2021, at CentraCare Hospital in Long Prairie.

A memorial service will be held Friday, December 17 at 11 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Staples. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.

Merle was born March 14, 1936, to Merle and Ellen Dorit (Nichols) Killian in Nashwauk. He married Dorothy Ringler on November 24, 1957 and together they had six children.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 64 years, Dorothy; five children, Randy (Lillian), Russell (Lesa), Leslie, Jesse (Janie), Bethany (Michael) Bennett; nine grandchildren, Megan (Derek St. John), Tucker (Phylicia Ludke), Aidan, Victoria, Gunnar, Jude, Johnny, Jazie and Juliet; one great-granddaughter, Kora Moon; one brother, Harley (Evelyn) and three sisters, Eileen (Jim) Smith, Nancy Killian and Betty Killian.

Merle is preceded in death by his parents and one infant daughter, Rachel Lynn.
