Millie Howard

Millie S. Howard, 80, of Staples passed away unexpectedly at her home on August 28, 2016. 

A memorial service  will be held Friday, September 2 at 1:00 p.m. at the Staples United Methodist Church with Pastor Bob Ford officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. A luncheon will follow the service, also at the church.

Arrangements are with the Taylor Funeral and Cremation Care, Staples.

Millie was born in Pennington County on December 9, 1935 to Sam and Anna (Gunderson) Peterson.

She was an active member of the Staples United Methodist Church and will be remembered for her work as a Girl Scout Leader and a Den Mother. Millie spent many hours cooking, sewing for family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed going to and having garage sales.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry and Robert Howard, both of Oklee; two daughters, Donna Howard of Chanhassen and Nancy (Mike) Bickford of Coon Rapids; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Lydia Skarsten; one sister-in-law, Eileen Woell; two brothers-in-law, Don Snyder and Dwight (Stella) Howard.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale; one son, Al; one sister, Gladys Snyder; one brother, Alvin Peterson; three brothers-in-law, Duane (Lavonne) Howard, Bob Skarsten, Melvin Woell; two sisters-in-law, Ila (Clarey) Eliason, Ina (Marvin) Burman.
