Morris Lundgren
Morris (Morrie) Lundgren, 81, of Staples passed away August 13, 2017 at his home.
A memorial service celebrating Morrie’s life will be held Friday, August 18 at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Staples. Gathering time for family and friends will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
Morrie was born September 1, 1935, in Vinton, Iowa to Svea (Johnson) and Gustavus (Harold) Lundgren. He married Penny Jackewitz on July 2, 1960, in Bovey. They lived in Mankato and Greenville, Iowa, before moving to Staples in 1964. Morrie and his wife owned and operated the Kentucky Fried Chicken in Staples for 20 years. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Staples.
Morrie is survived by special friend, Marge Evans of Pillager; three daughters, Lori Lundgren of Glencoe, Alicia (Lee) Truax of Bertha and Allyson (Jens) Zimmermann of Zurich; two sons, Brett (Dawn) Lundgren of Wadena and Trevor (Gwen) Lundgren of Becker; 10 grandchildren, Amber, Simon and Zachary Lundgren, Hunter Truax, Hayden Truax, Holton Traux, Cody Lundgren, Megan Lundgren, Brook Lundgren and Jessa Jacquin; three great grandchildren; three brothers, Nathan (Doreen) Lundgren of Brainerd, Forest (Karen) Lundgren of Red Wing and Phillip Lundgren of Cloquet.
He was preceded in death by his wife and one brother, Elwood Keith Lundgren.
