Nicholas Hopp
The Time of Remembrance celebrating the life of Nicholas Hopp of rural Staples will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, July 28 at the Domian-Anderson Chapel in Bertha. Family and friends may gather at the Chapel for an open house on Friday from 2:00 until 4:00p.m.
Nick, age 58, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on July 18, 2023 at his home in rural Staples, MN.
Nicholas "Nick" was born to Herbert and Karen (Hoemberg) Hopp on February 17, 1965 in Bertha, MN. After completing high school at Staples he went on to work as a rubber molder at Stern Manufacturing in Staples for 39 years. In hours away from work he enjoyed the outdoors while tending to the tasks of farming and deer hunting. It meant a lot to him to spend time with his family.
Preceding Nick in death by were his parents, Herb and Karen; son Jamie Hopp (2021);
Memories of Nick will remain with his fiancé, Cindy Smith of Long Prairie; son, Corey Hopp of Staples; step-son, Christopher Lynch of Alexandria; grandson, Connor Hopp of Sebeka; the mother of his children, Kim Kortuem of Clarissa; siblings: Marianne (Ralph) Boyer of Long Prairie, Beth (Larry) Denault of Hastings, John Hopp of Staples, Bruce (Tammy) Hopp of Hewitt, Michael Hopp of Bertha and Matthew (Autumn) Hopp of Wadena; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Honorary urn bearers will be all who called him friend.
Burial will be held at a later date in St. Frederick's Catholic Cemetery in Verndale, MN.
