Raye Gillson

Raye Gillson, 90,of  Motley, passed away March 23, 2017 at home. 

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 1, at 2:30 p.m. at Lincoln Evangelical Free Church in Cushing with the Rev. James Brown officiating. 

A private family burial will be held at the Scandia Valley Cemetery in Cushing.

Funeral arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls.

Raye Ora Borgstrom was born April 2, 1926 to Richard and Della (Hershey) Borgstrom on the family farm in Scandia Valley Township. She attended the Scandia Valley Country School and graduated from Motley High School in 1944. Raye worked for the Longview Fibre Company in Longview, WA and at Alvah Nygren’s General Store in Leader. She married Merlyn Gillson on December 18, 1947. They made their home on a farm in Scandia Valley. Raye was a devoted wife and mother and was active in church ministries.

Raye is survived by one  daughter, Sandra; her in-laws, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and one brother Cedric Borgstrom.
