Richard Schlegel

Richard Schlegel, 67, passed peacefully to heaven September 30, 2020.

Mass of Christian burial was held October 7 at Church of St. Charles Borromeo, St. Anthony. 

Richard was born To Chris and Grace Schlegal at Ft. Benning, GA and lived most of his life in St. Anthony Village. He graduated from St. Anthony High School and attended 916 Vocational College. He retired after working 29 years for TCF Bank.  

Dick had a life well lived and will be missed. He approached each day with a courageous and generous heart. He enjoyed time with his family and friends, reading the Bible, traveling, camping, hunting, watching Hallmark movies and playing Cribbage. He was a fan of all Minnesota sports, but as a 36-year season ticket holder, his true sports love was Gopher football; “Go Gophers!”   

He loved and was loved by family and friends. He is survived by parents; one sister, Elizabeth (Don) Niemi; two nieces, Jenny (Keith) Jensen and Angela Niemi; two grand-nieces, Grace and Abby Jensen; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.    

Memorials are preferred to the donor’s favorite charity or to St. Charles Borromeo.
