Roger Schneider

Roger Schneider, 73, of Staples, died Nov. 2, 2018 at Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sat., Nov. 17 from 2 to 5 p.m at the Bear’s Den in Leader.

Arrangements were by Brenny Funeral Chapel, Staples.

Roger was born February 22, 1945 in Mandan, ND to Leo and Mary (Emineth) Schneider. He grew up north of Mandan. At the age of 16, Roger moved with his family to the Leader area where he attended Staples High School. He married Kim Tonsager on Feb. 9, 1993 in Honolulu, HI. He spent a year working on the railroad based out of Staples and started with heavy equipment as a section crewmember, eventually becoming a section chief. He retired in the late 1990s. Roger enjoyed fishing, hunting and deer hunting for 40 years with his buddy, Joe Rousslang as well as traveling.

Roger is survived by his wife; one son, Jim (Lilia) of Simie Valley, CA; grandson, James and one brother, Dennis Schneider of Motley. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Linda Schneider and daughter, Stacy Schneider.
