Ruth Thiel

Ruth Thiel, 99, Madison, WI died August 19, 2016 at Oakwood Village Prairie Ridge, Madison.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Sept. 17 at 11 a.m. at Oakwood Village Prairie Ridge, Madison with Chaplain C. Wayne Shannon officiating. 

Interment will be at Wheaton. 

Ruth was born on February 12, 1917 to Hayden and Lucy (Hanley) Tyrrell in Philbrook. She married Orville Thiel in Todd County in 1942. Ruth was a school teacher.

She is survived by one daughter, Geri Torti, Madison and one son, Kent (Katrina) Thiel of Chelsea, MI; one sister, Evelyn Adams, Staples; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and one sister, Vernice Parliament.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Society.
