Sherman Sheets

Sherman Lester Sheets, 72, of Staples, passed away October 17, 2019, peacefully at his home.

A service for Sherman will be held Sat., Oct. 26 at the VFW in Wadena at 12:00 p.m.

Sherman was born  March, 25, 1947 in Lyon County to Lewis and Lana Sheets. He graduated from Wabasso High in 1964. After high school Sherman served in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked as a mechanic for many years. In 1977, he married Rebecca Rasmussen and together they raised two children in their Staples home of 36 years.

Sherman will be remembered for his kind, outgoing and generous nature. He had a heart of gold. 

Sherman is survived by his wife; two children Sherman (Laila) Sheets of Staples and Layshia (Eric) Wall of Little Falls; four grandchildren and one great-grandson. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lee.
