William Johnson
William Oliver Johnson, 47, of Motley, MN, died December 31, 2018, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Services will be held January 12, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Staples with Pastor Carl Larson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
Billy was born August 3, 1971 to Duane and Martha (Sorter) Johnson in Thief River Falls, MN. He graduated from Staples-Motley High School in 1989 and attended college for aviation mechanics in Thief River Falls. He started working for BNSF Railway in May, 1994. He loved his job, especially driving log-boy across country and enjoyed his railroad family and the many friends he made. Billy enjoyed vacationing in Mexico and the Caribbean.
Billy is survived by one son, Isaiah Erbe of Motley, two daughters, Lanaiah Erbe of Motley and Ava Johnson of Duluth; step-son Aadi Hand of Duluth; his mother, Martha Holsapple of Motley; two brothers, Lyndon (Linda) Johnson of Motley and Lyle (Lori) Johnson of Nisswa; two sisters, Aletha (Leroy) Flickinger of Motley and Linette (Tom) Horn of Dresser, WI and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Duane Johnson and step-father, Carl Holsapple; grandparents Clifford and Greta Johnson and Art and Maude Sorter.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
Arrangements are by Miller-Carlin Funeral Home.
