Wilma Colby

Wilma Colby, 98, of Verndale, passed away  September 28, 2023, at the Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples.

Burial was in Wadena Cemetery, Wadena.

Wilma was born to Frederick and Flavel (Fortner) Waldofski on February 16, 1925, at Cadott, WI. She completed high school and in later years worked in the kitchen at Central Lakes College in Staples. In quiet hours Wilma used her talents in quilting, sewing, knitting and needlepoint. Her family will remember her as a loving mother who was willing to help anyone in need. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church ladies circle and reading the Bible strengthened her faith.

Wilma is survived by one son, David Colby of Verndale; two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; along with several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Wilma in death were her parents, Frederick and Flavel; two sons, Jim Colby and John Colby; one grandson, Fred Colby; one sister, Carol Waldofski and one brother, Verlyn Waldofski.
