Freshwater to celebrate American Education Week
Hats off to all public educators as everyone recognizes American Education Week, Nov. 14-18. The theme is “Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility.”
As director of the 13 member Freshwater Educational District of Central Minnesota, I am daily reminded of the huge impact quality education has on children. Everyone who works at a school deserves a “thank you” for contributing to the success of public education.
In addition to the successful work provided by our area schools, I also want to thank all of the local business and industries that provide jobs to our graduates. Central Minnesota truly has a skilled workforce and ample job opportunities. The quality of manufacturing and business productivity is a very strong and successful outcome of good schools, strong family values and excellent business and industry opportunities.
Thanks again to everyone who supports quality public education.
The Staples-Motley, Verndale, Bertha-Hewitt, Browerville, Eagle Valley, Pillager, Long Prairie-Grey Eagle, Wadena-Deer Creek, Sebeka, Menahga, New York Mills, Henning and Perham school districts are local members of the Freshwater Educational District. Freshwater is a multi-school district cooperative that provides specialized staff and services that are more efficient, to jointly sponsor.
Jerry Nesland is the director of the Freshwater Education District based in Staples.
