Letter to the Editor
Fabulous foodie night
Egg drop soup, made-from-scratch egg rolls, fried rice, General Tao’s chicken and cream cheese wontons with zesty Suracha sauce.
This was the menu for the Chinese cooking class held this past Saturday evening sponsored by Staples Motley Community Education. There were only seven of us attending: a registered nurse, a used car salesman, a retired business woman, a youth minister, a stay-at-home mom, an employee of Communty Education and a budding young beauty queen.
Shelly Miller, nutritionist, put us through our paces, encouraging, directing us as we chopped, measured and deep fired a delectable meal. As we sat together enjoying “the fruits of our labor,” we commented “I could spend another Saturday night just like this.”
And you can, too. The schedule is published in the Summer Recreation tabloid put out by Staples Motley Community Education, for the community, by the community. Check your newspaper enclosures in the fall for the next exciting food class offering.
