Music department is continuing traditions

Staples-Motley Schools

The Staples-Motley High School Music Department would like to take this opportunity to thank the community for the support you have given us over the years. You are an important part of the team that strives to continue the “Tradition of Excellence,” and we are so grateful for you.

Many have already seen the pep band performing at various events this fall and soon the other ensembles will start their performance schedules.

Upcoming concerts at Centennial Auditorium include: choir concert, Tuesday, Oct. 18; orchestra concert, Tuesday, Nov. 1; and band concert, Thursday, Nov. 10. These concerts all start at 7 p.m., are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Bring a friend, relax and enjoy the music. Don’t miss the Bratfest featuring our polka band this Friday, Oct. 14 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the high school cafeteria.

For those of you who would like to be more involved in our music program, we are looking to reinvigorate our Music Boosters club. There will be an informal meeting to discuss how you can help support our music program Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 8 p.m., immediately following the choir concert at Centennial Auditorium. If you can’t attend the meeting but would like to get involved, contact Kevin Nelson at kevinnelson@aibme.com.

It’s Madrigal time and we need your help in preparation for the 24th biennial Madrigal Dinner.

We are short of costumes and helpers. If you have madrigal style attire (costume) in your closet that we could use or would like to volunteer your time in helping with various projects before and during the madrigal, contact Caleb Horn at caleb.horn@isd2170.k12.mn.us. The two madrigal performances will be Saturday, Dec. 3 and Sunday, Dec. 4.
