Responding to the unexpected life lessons
We now mark the beginning of the second semester here at the high school. Calendars seem to move faster and faster, year after year.
Last week we were faced with some difficult situations amongst our students and staff. We had a car accident, which involved some our students; and a house fire that took the life of a recent graduate. Our site felt the very real ripple effects of the emotions that accompany such happenings.
The students of Staples-Motley and Connections High School have demonstrated dignity, respect and genuine care for not only their classmates, but the faculty and families of those connected to it all.
For this - we, as a faculty, couldn’t be more proud of them. It’s deserving of compliments and recognition. They’ve intuitively responded to all that’s happened around them with poise. Collectively, it’s quite impressive.
Life has a way of providing un-written curriculums for us to work with and through. This past week has provided us with many lessons. We, as a site, take tremendous pride in what we do and how we do it.
Our thoughts, prayers, and hopes for better days go out to all affiliated with what’s taken place.
As for the students and staff here at the high school site: You’re a fine ensemble of people who, this past week, were there for each other...day after day, as the events unfolded. Well done.
You’re inspiring to one another... I simply had to share.
