The proceeds of this tax must be utilized to fund a Tourism Promotion Committee for the purpose of marketing and promoting the City as a tourist center. The selected organization will be held responsible for all financial management, implementation, and reporting duties to execute a defined strategic marketing plan. This would include the management and oversight of any and all hired resources to complete plan requirements.
The lodging tax has an anticipated approximate first year budget of $25,000 and a second year budget of $50,000, with an anticipated start date of January 2018.
