NOTICE
REGION FIVE DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION APPLICATION FOR RTCC PLANNING FUNDS
Region Five Development Commission (R5DC) hereby provides notice that it intends to apply to the Minnesota Department of Transportation for Phase 1 - Regional Transportation Coordination Council (RTCC) Planning Funds for Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Todd and Wadena Counties.
R5DC is an eligible applicant with extensive experience in all modes of transportation and project/program development/implementation and would strive to:
Provide coordination of regional transportation services through a network of public, private and non-profit transportation providers, service agents to fill vehicle transit transportation gaps, streamline access to vehicle transportation and provide individuals more travel options. The R5DC - RTCC will plan and implement strategies that meet the regional transit coordination needs.
Given that the RTCC board membership will be diverse and as comprehensive as possible, and include representatives from the region’s county department of social services, Minnesota Area Agencies on Aging, Workforce Development, transportation providers, human services agencies, transportation and human services advocates, veteran service organizations, Minnesota Continuum of Care Coordinators, Centers for Independent Living and public and private funders of transportation services, R5DC convened a meeting of such stakeholders on November 14, 2017 who requested R5DC to act as the lead agency to complete this work.
R5DC is suited to convene stakeholders who will identify local transit needs and commit to participation by way of offering RTCC Stakeholder representation to attend planning meetings that will offer the R5DC-RTCC a structure and operations plan for implementation strategies that align with the Local Human Services - Public Transit Coordination Plan and the activities of the R5DC Transportation Advisory Council.
Individuals or agencies seeking to request involvement as a stakeholder or partner with R5DC should contact Cheryal Lee Hills, 200 1st Street Staples, MN 56479, 218-894-3233 ext 1.
The deadline for submitting the Regional Transportation Coordination Council Phase 1 - Planning Grant is March 31, 2018.
