The meeting was called to order with Lund, Longbella, Frisk, Freeman, and Anderson present. Also attending: Superintendent Bratlie; Business Services, Chuck Herdegen; Principals Johnson, Schmidt, and Regan; approx. 25 students, staff and community members; Nexus; WSN; Staples World Manager Editor, Anderson; and Recording Secretary, Madson.  The Pledge of Allegiance was recited

Dave Hoemberg, former Board Member, addressed the board expressing concerns he has over the closing of the Motley building.  The Board will provide Mr. Hoemberg with a written response regarding his concerns.

Simek, D. Ferdon, J. Smith, and J. Schneider) and Recording Secretary, Madson. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

MSBA Superintendent Search

Sandy Gundlach and Steve Nickolas of MSBA led the group through interview do’s and don’ts.  The advisory committee then met separately to formulate their questions and process for meeting with candidates prior to their interview.  

MSBA and Board Members reviewed their top applicants and reached agreement on five candidates.

Following a paper vote Shane Tappe received five (5) votes as top candidate. 

Following a second paper vote, Jon Ellerbusch received five (5) votes as the second place candidate. 

At this point members determined that second interviews were not needed as it was evident that Tappe was the preferred candidate. 

Motion by Frisk, seconded by Anderson, to move forward with Mr. Shane Tappe, pending reference checks and a possible site visit to his present district of Dawson-Boyd. 

A Special Meeting will be scheduled for a report on reference checks.
