1. YOU ARE BEING SUED. The Plaintiff has started a lawsuit against you. The Plaintiff’s Complaint against you is attached to this Summons. Do not throw these papers away. They are official papers that affect your rights. You must respond to this lawsuit even though it may not yet be filed with the Court and there may be no court file number on this Summons.

3. YOU MUST RESPOND TO EACH CLAIM. The Answer is your written response to the Plaintiff’s Complaint. In your Answer you must state whether you agree or disagree with each paragraph of the Complaint. If you believe the Plaintiff should not be given everything asked for in the Complaint, you must say so in your Answer.
4. YOU WILL LOSE YOUR CASE IF YOU DO NOT SEND A WRITTEN RESPONSE TO THE COMPLAINT TO THE PERSON WHO SIGNED THIS SUMMONS. If you do not Answer within 20 days, you will lose this case. You will not get to tell your side of the story, and the Court may decide against you and award the Plaintiff everything asked for in the Complaint. If you do not want to contest the claims stated in the Complaint, you do not need to respond. A default judgment can then be entered against you for the relief requested in the Complaint.
5. LEGAL ASSISTANCE. You may wish to get legal help from a lawyer. If you do not have a lawyer, the Court Administrator may have information about places where you can get legal assistance. Even if you cannot get legal help, you must still provide a written Answer to protect your rights or you may lose the case.
6. ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION. The parties may agree to or be ordered to participate in an alternative dispute resolution process under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice. You must still send your written response to the Complaint even if you expect to use alternative means of resolving this dispute.

BY SEALED BID/PUBLIC AUCTION
The County of Todd, a political subdivision organized under the laws of the State of Minnesota will be accepting sealed bids until November 8, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., at the Todd County Commissioner’s Room, 2151 1st Ave. S., Suite 300, Long Prairie, MN, for the purchase and sale of the land and buildings at Co. Rd. 56, Long Prairie, MN 56347. This parcel has been used as a Sherriff’s Impound Lot, Veteran’s Service Garage and Sentence to Serve Wood Sale lot. The parcel will be sold “AS IS” with no warranty whatsoever. Additionally there is no warranty on boundaries or legal descriptions.
All bidders will complete, sign and submit a Purchase Agreement together with earnest money of $10,000.00 in the form a cashier’s check payable to Todd County. After opening of the sealed bids on November 8, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., any bona-fide bidder may raise their bid as in public auction until such time as a successful bidder is determined. The minimum bid which the Seller will consider is $277,185.00 plus any and all attorney fees incurred by the county in selling the real estate.

on proposed assessment
of delinquent utility bills
NOTICE is hereby given that the Staples City Council will meet at 8:05 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at the Staples City Hall to consider, and possibly adopt, the proposed assessment against the following described property that has delinquent utility bills:

The proposed assessment is on file for public inspection at the City Clerk’s office. The total amount of the proposed assessment is $373.28. Written or oral objections will be considered at the hearing.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Staples City Council gave an ordinance its first reading proposing to increase the salaries of the Mayor and City Council Members effective January 1, 2017. The salary of the Mayor is proposed to increase from $250 per month to $370 per month. The salary for each City Council Member is proposed to increase from $185 per month to $315 per month. In addition, the Mayor and City Council Members will be permitted to be absent for a maximum of four meetings per fiscal year without salary reduction. Any absences in excess of four meetings will result in a prorated reduction of salary for the month in which the absence occurred.
The second and final reading will be considered at the October 25, 2016 Staples City Council meeting.
