Becker TOWNSHIP monthly MEETING

 

The Becker Township monthly meeting will be held Tuesday, November 15  at 7:00 p.m. along with the Board of Canvass meeting.  There will be no meeting on November 8 due to elections.

Becker Township is a mail balloting township. Non registered voters can register and vote at the Walker courthouse or the Pillager City Hall on November 8. Contact the Auditor Treasure’s office at 218-547-7260 with any questions.

NOTICE of public accuracy test wadena county 

 

Pursuant to Minnesota Statute 206.83, Wadena County will test the AutoMARK and precinct based optical scan voting equipment that will be used for the vote tabulation in the State General Election to be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. Wadena County uses ES&S AutoMARKs, ES&S Model 100 Precinct Based Optical Scan Ballot Tabulators and DS200 Precinct Based Optical Scan Ballot Tabulators.

Wadena County will test its election equipment at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2016, in the Courthouse Auditorium of the Wadena County Courthouse located at 415 Jefferson St. S, Wadena, MN. The purpose of this testing is to ascertain that the equipment will correctly count and tabulate the votes cast for all races, candidates and ballot questions. This test must be observed by at least two election judges, not of the same political party, and is open to the public, representatives of the political parties, candidates and the press. All interested persons are urged to attend.

on proposed assessment 

of delinquent utility bills 

 

NOTICE is hereby given that the Staples City Council will meet at 8:05 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at the Staples City Hall to consider, and possibly adopt, the proposed assessment against the following described property that has delinquent utility bills:

• Lots 11 & 12, Block 6, Bigelow Addition to Staples. Parcel No. 38-0111610

The proposed assessment is on file for public inspection at the City Clerk’s office. The total amount of the proposed assessment is $373.28. Written or oral objections will be considered at the hearing.

Owners have the right to prepay the entire assessment to the City Clerk without an interest charge within 30 days after the adoption of the assessment. However, if the assessment is not prepaid, the assessment principal will be assessed in one installment plus interest at a rate of 6% per annum, with payment due in 2017 with real estate taxes.

Owners may appeal an assessment to District Court pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 429.081 by serving notice of the appeal upon the Mayor or City Clerk of the City within 30 days after the adoption of the assessment and filing such notice with the District Court within 10 days after service upon the Mayor or Clerk; however, no appeal may be taken as to the amount of any individual assessment, unless a written objection signed by the affected property owner is filed with the City Clerk prior to or at the assessment hearing.
