Cardinals take lead early in win

The Staples-Motley girls basketball team kept a comfortable lead for most of the game in a 77-60 win over Pillager on Dec. 13, improving their record to 4-1.
Claire Wolhowe led the team with 23 points, while Kelsie Wiete scored 18. Ashley Smith and Sam Schimpp scored 10 each.Other scorers were Chelsea Nanik 6, Kearra Mikel 6, Amber Robben 2 and Kiera Dumpproope 2.
The Cardinals’ Dec. 19 game against Holdingford was postponed.
