Father’s Day golf tournament open to public
The Vintage golf course at Staples will host their annual Father’s Day Tournament, Sunday, June 19. Registration at 8:15 a.m., play starts at 9 a.m. Entry fee includes lunch and prizes for winning teams.
The tournament will be played according to best ball rules. Players do not have to have a USGA handicap and all skills levels are welcome.
“The Father’s Day Tournament is a very family friendly event where all ages are encouraged to play,” said Jef Cichos, a Vintage board member. “This tournament is simply about having fun playing golf and celebrating Father’s Day.”
The Vintage is a Joel Goldstrand designed 18-hole golf course and is located along the Crow Wing River just north of Staples. The course is open to the public.
The Vintage golf course opened originally in 1929 , as a nine-hole, shareholder-owned course named Terrace Golf Course. The course has come full circle in 2016, as it celebrates its third year of being owned and operated by local shareholders.
