Golfers win two meets

The Staples Motley boys won two meets in two days, sweeping an invitational at Blueberry Pines in Menahga on April 29 and coming back to win the Cardinal Invitational at The Vintage in Staples on April 30.

Andrew Israelson tied for first at Menahga with a 78, then shot under par at home with 71 to win outright.

Beck Erholtz was hot in both rounds, shooting 80 at Menahga and finishing in third place with a round of 77 at The Vintage. Tyler Helling and Finn Erholtz were the other varsity scorers in each round.

Klefsaas, Koenig get top ten finishes

Olivia Klefsaas was fifth at the Bemidji golf invitational on April 29 and teammate Hailey Koenig placed ninth at the Park Rapids Invitational on May 2.

At Bemidji, Klefsaas shot 84 while Koenig shot 91 to finish 11th. At Park Rapids, Koenig shot 86 and Klefsaas was at 88 to finish 11th. Alix Peterson shot 102 at Bemidji and 113 at Park Rapids.
