Klefsaas, Giza qualify for state track meet
The Staples Motley girls and boys track and field teams had a successful Section 6A meet on June 2, with Millie Klefsaas qualifying for the state meet in the 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles and pole vault.
For the boys team, Max Giza qualified in the pole vault and just missed in the hurdles, finishing fourth in the 110 hurdles and third in the 300 hurdles. Another near miss was in the 4x400 relay in which Isaiah Ross-Bahn, Frank Karbowiak, Tyler Johnson and Giza finished third, one spot from qualifying for state.
This will be Klefsaas’ second trip to state, last year she was second in the 100 hurdles and third in the 300 hurdles. This will be the first trip to state for Giza.
